The Last Continent is a fantasy novel by British writer Terry Pratchett, the twenty-second book in his Discworld series. First published in 1998, it mocks the aspects of time travel such as the grandfather paradox and the Ray Bradbury short story "A Sound of Thunder". It also parodies Australian people and aspects of Australian culture, such as the Crocodile Dundee, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Mad Max movies, the Australian beer XXXX, Vegemite, thongs, cork hats, the Peach Melba, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, the Henley-on-Todd Regatta, and the popular Australian songs "Waltzing Matilda", "Down Under", and "The Man From Snowy River".

Tal vez un poco menos redondo que su predecesor, tiempos interesantes, pero aun así muy divertido.

La estructura es similar, tenemos la trama de Rincewind por un lado y la de los magos de la universidad por otra y que luego tienen nexos comunes. Me ha parecido especialmente brillante unas escenas en las que la dicotomía teologia - ciencia sobre la creación de la vida dan pie a unos dialogos excelentes y que nos pone en nuestro sitio como humanidad dandonos una buena cura de humildad

Ahora solo queda El Atlético invisible, ya que El último héroe esta descatalogado y la gente esta enferma vendiendolo a precios que ni el baul mágico podria pagar

Review of 'The Last Continent' on 'Storygraph'

I skipped through about 1/3 of this book because it just dragged on and on… and on. Perhaps I’ve read too many Rincewind novels in a row and spoiled my wizard appetite. Got to the end out of pure spite and I’m glad I’ll never have to read it again.
