Tyk is a normal girl who wants a normal life: a loving family, gems for her carapace, and a job digging tunnels for her hive. But Tyk was born under a wandering star, and is destined to leave her home behind; a destiny which becomes unavoidable when a star egg falls from the sky… and hatches. The baby star is strange. With only two legs, no mandibles, and no carapace, she's almost helpless.
