Guards! Guards!

This book came highly recommended as an entry point into Terry Pratchett's Discworld. I found the characters and story humorous, but it felt like a bit of a slog to get through. I eventually found the humour a bit repetitive, although the story was tied up somewhat nicely at the end.

I am curious if it is worth giving the DiscWorld City Watch series another shot. Are there any better entry points to the series as a whole?

I don't know, I remember being more of a fan of Pratchett's writing, for this one I just kept feeling disassosiated and not really into it, it was still being amusing enough that I kept on through it, but I don't know, I feel like I liked it less than I expected/should have.

Great story! The members of the Watch are interesting people performing an unappreciated job in Ankh-Morpork. The Librarian's thread of the story was especially good and I'll remember the warning to not mention the M word around him!

What can I say, I have read this book multiple times and it still draws me in and I find new ideas and jokes every time. Its a great place to start reading Discworld novels.
