Kill All Normies: Online Culture Wars from 4chan and Tumblr to Trump and the Alt-Right is a 2017 non-fiction book by Angela Nagle published by Zero Books. It describes the development of internet culture, the nature of political correctness, the emergence of the alt-right and the 2016 election of Donald Trump. Nagle offers a left-wing critique of contemporary social liberalism, arguing that it helped create the alt-right movement.

Prescient

Aucune note

It's very strange to read a narativization of events for which I was both present and cognizant. Nonetheless I find Nagle's work here fascinating, thought proving, and disgusting at once. Reading this I was struck with the feeling that she applies less empathy to the Tumblr-ites (who I am surely biased towards myself) as she does the channers. Overall, I found this to be very prescient. Left my wanting for a part two explaining how we've gotten to where we are now, how the online right spaces have reacted to trump 2.
