The Kaiju Preservation Society is a science fiction novel written by American author John Scalzi. It was first published in hardcover and ebook by Tor Books, and audiobook by Audible Studios, on March 15, 2022; British hardcover and ebook editions were released by Tor UK on March 17, 2022. A large print hardcover edition was issued by Thorndike Press on July 27, 2022, and a trade paperback edition by Tor Books on January 24, 2023.The novel was nominated for the 2022 Dragon Award for Best Science Fiction Novel and the 2023 Hugo Award for Best Novel. It won a 2023 Alex Award, the American Library Association's annual award recognizing the ten best adult books that appeal to teen readers. It was a top ten finalist for the 2023 Locus Awards, and went on to win the 2023 Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel.

Save the Kaiju

This is another entertaining Covid 'time period' novel. It is about an interesting parallel universe; a tale designed to help both the author and reader find a semblance of normalcy after years of pandemic. By the way, this is a good story as well.

Scalzi described this book as a pop song rather than a symphony, and that's an apt description. It's a catchy, fun pop song that is stuck in my head and I find myself wanting to revisit. I haven't had this much fun since Agent to the Stars!
